Service....Oh everyone here wears scarves!

For service we help members around the house we dig ditches and move stuff around. I love service it’s awesome to see the looks on the members, less active, or investigators faces.

Well we haven’t had a baptism yet we have to keep pushing back the date cuz the girl works to much and doesn’t have time to hear the lessons. It’s a little frustrating but I think this week will be a little better. Hopefully we have success and teach a lesson or two. Oh, here name is Jamila she is 20 years old here boyfriend is a member but less active. She really loves the church, the members and the family of her boyfriend. She was prepared pretty well by the lord. It’s just a matter of giving her the information and let her go from there. Also we have a nurse named Gladis who works a ton so it’s hard to get time with here also we served here and dug a trench in front of her house. A member has pictures I will try and get some. Oh everyone here wears scarves I wear mine all the time.

That’s hilarious about Chase's hair, I imagine the guys on the team give him a hard time about it. I hope this week is a little better we didn’t progress much but we laid the bricks to have a good week. And that’s crazy about Adam I love that story I bet that will be the best story of his mission. Well I will see you next week. Oh some news about the US would be awesome. haha

The food is super good I love it all

Hi mom

All is well with Elder Ashworth.  I start on my fourth week I think here in the field its crazy!! Time has gone by so quick! How are things with Tanner and the rest of the gang. Thanks for forwarding the pictures of Adam. I love seeing the difference in where we are serving it makes me laugh we are going to have some crazy stories when we get back.

Well no baptisms this week. Saturday we will.  Today I’m going to buy a converter for my memory stick so I can up load photos of the apartment and tons of other. I need to take more I will try a lot harder this week to take more so I can share with the family.

The Spanish is coming along slow but the members help so much and they say they have seen a huge gain and most are super impressed at my abilities for how long I have been here. The food is super good I love it all. I’m excited to get my stuff for the apartment so I can cook in the morning and evening. Oh so you should tell me about what new movies are coming out ha-ha. I’m super excited to here conference in October we will have the opportunity to watch it in English. Us white elders and Hermana’s will go to the mission home and watch with the presidents I think or the chapel right down the road from their house.

Its super cold here now too bad. We have a lot of cites so we go from one house to the next and they all give us hot chocolate ha-ha since we can’t drink mate. Studying the scriptures has forced me to slow down and read multiple times I love it. Well I would love to write to Tanner so shoot me his email and I will try to write him too in my short hour I have.

Hola! Keep a prayer in your heart to have the Spirit with you!

Hi

Well I'm adjusting pretty well. We have big meals in the afternoon which I love. We don't have a frige or a microwave yet in our apartment oh ya or a washing machine but we will soon hopefully this week. That apartment is really nice compared to some of the houses here we are truly blessed. Hot water, power and fresh water. Even though I drink the water here and all is well so far.

I had one migraine cuz I didn't drink enough but I was fine I took a nice long shower in the night and I was gone. I got some meds from a nurse in my ward super nice says she is our new mother for now. She is going to make sure I'm taking care of. The weather is ok I wear the sweat shirts still and the big coat one day but today it is super nice I might change after lunch to a short sleeve. It's so weird even though its super different and very humbling living in my area we have a smaller I guess mall and today we are going to eat McDonalds and go bowling I'm super stoked. It's so weird and different than Idaho but I truly do love it. The ward is super small but super nice all of them are taking super good care of me. I love the food so much is way good a lot of pizza and sort of weird meals but I'm not being picky and eating all of it and than some. The members love that.

Oh no we walk all day every day my legs were super sore for a day but not any more im going to have calfs of steel when I get home in two years. I feel this mission we walk so much but what makes it hard is the fact that its up or down hill and the fact that the roads are super rough and super narly. We don't shine our shoes here it would be a losing battle. Well I haven't played soccer yet next week we are going to play with our zone leaders and maybe some elders from a different area. I'm stoked. my clothes are some what holding up my big coat has a big hole in the pocket I have only used once so I'm a little annoyed about that. I think my blue pants are ripping. I might take them to the Relief Society president and see what she says or maybe the mall and see what the tail there has to say. I imagine I can sow the pocket in my coat but my pants and suit coat I think some one with more skill will have to fix.

Oh ya so since my area is new there are some old like really old records of people but now we have to fix the records and track them down and figure out our area a little better. We have one baptism here it was super amazing the spirit was so strong that night. I know now that its going to be hard serving but seeing her feel the spirit making all the hard stuff totally worth it. We have a lot of solid people coming up this week. I hope we have 5 or 6 solid investigators this week. I feel like this area is going to explode once we get a little more organized and settled.

Tell Chase I understand where he is coming from just work and pray and hope that he will get his chance and when he gets that chance hit someone super hard for me. Well other than that tell Chase and Emma I challenge them to read daily and pray daily I have seen the difference in my life the last year and I know they can feel that change as well.

It is hard being a missionary...

Well I made it to Argentina I didn't stay a night in Buenos Aires we got another flight to Neuquén everything has been moving super quick.

So the first thing in Argentina was the fact that no one was speaking English!!!! Crazy right so everyone in my group just stayed together and moved like a big blog we were super scared and had no idea what to do. There was no one there from the church to pick us up so we didn't want to leave the airport so we just formed a mega blob of missionaries it was pretty awesome many peoples looked at us like we were crazy.

So we waited around for like an hour or an hour and a half. Eventually the mission president of Buenos Aires and another lady came in and gave us all a big hug I imagine we all had pretty scared looks on our faces. Most of us hadn´t shaved or showered for a couple of days.  So after a awhile we got a big bus and went to the mission office in down town Buenos Aires what a culture shock the people are awesome but always in a hurry and there are soo many dogs here it blows my mind. Like there are literally millions of dogs in the streets and on the sidewalks. Most run as soon as you look at them.

So once we made it to office we meet different people ate lunch and boarded the bus again to head to the different airport for our plane. So now it was a smaller group but it was still way awesome to have people with me. We had a layover there for 3 or 4 hours. It was super long and now we are hungry but now we don’t have money or know how to speak. So we waited and waited some more. Another group joined us from the MTC Argentina super nice elders and sisters. We boarded the plane and made the 2 hour flight to Neuquén. It was quiet and you could feel the tension in us newbies.

Once we landed we saw President Lovell and Hermana Lovell they gave us a hug and we boarded some buses to the mission home. The elders slept in the Casa Grande. The house of the senior companion super nice people. Elder and Sister Emky. We spent two days there resting getting ready, studying and bunch of other stuff than we went to the chapel and were assigned companions. My companion is Elder Vanez he is from Chile has been in the field for 6 months. Knows perfect English this is the funny part he learned English from Star Wars.  I’m serious its nuts.

I’m so happy that I have a native and an English speaker. The last couple of days have been a blurr for two days we lived in apartment with a other set of elders it was so small and tiny. Filthy but I didn't care. Now we have a nice apartment to ourselves. Its clean thanks to me and my companion. We have one family and two other people to teach tonight I’m super excited. Next week I will try and send pictures of my area and other stuff. It is sooooooo hard being a missionary I wasn't ready but with the Lord I will be. Sent to every one please.
